So after getting into camp after 9:00 last night, we slept in a little (not really). We slugged down a quick breakfast and decided to get moving. We filtered some water at the stream crossing before really leaving the tentsite area. We hoofed it out to the car in a couple of hours. There were a lot of PUDS but overall the hike was good. Once we hit the Old Jackson Road (trail) we made better time as the trail's footing was much better.
Once we got to the car at Pinkham Notch, we drove south stopping at Kringles for an early lunch. Our hiker appetites kicked in. We both had foot long subs, chips and a drink. I then drove to Crawford Notch, dropped my father off at his car and headed home.
This was a great trip. The next Presidential Traverse I attempt will likely be a 1 day attempt with a lot lighter weight.
After this trip I only have five 4,000'peaks to go for the list. Owl's Head, Middle Carter, South Carter, Wildcat A, and Liberty. I am hoping for a Liberty finish and am hoping to tackle Owl's Head within a month or so.
Until Next Time... or as my father would say: "Carry- On".
