Blue Job 9/12/2015

I have been trying to get out there and hike once every month.  I'm trying to average one hiking day per month this year.  This is a little hike but I'm going to count it.  I brought Max along for his first Firetower list peak.  I've hiked this before so I know he will be able to handle it. 

Today's hike is Blue Job Mountain.  It's a firetower peak not too far from where we live.  It's about 45 minutes away.  Mommy was going to the beach and I decided I've had enough beach time this year so I was going to go hiking and Max choose hiking over the beach.  I couldn't believe it considering how much he loves the beach. 

We parked in the lot a little bit later than I would have liked due to a surprise visit from a relative but a 12:30 start wasn't that bad.  Max was excited upon starting and pointed out every orange blaze and wanted to lead the way. 

We made it to the top in about half an hour.  Not bad.  We climbed the firetower and took a few pictures.

Then we ate a sandwich and headed down the mountain.  What a beautiful day and not one single complaint from Max except on a very large step coming down the loop.
