Chocoroua Redlining 6/4/2011

Today was a great day for me.  I went hiking a few weeks ago and now I get to go again.  I decided to do a little bit longer hike than the last time out and get some Redlining done.

I hiked Chocoroua via the Liberty and Brook trails.  I've now hit The Chocoroua summit 4 times.  I love this peak.  My wife hates it as every time we hike it she takes a fall and gets hurt but I think it's a beautiful mountain.  Today's hike was 8.5 Miles with 2,750' of elevation gain.  The trail up  Liberty and Down Brook was through a lot of open hardwood forests and being relatively early in the year there were a lot of leaves in the trail making the footing difficult.  Overall though, great day.

Here's a few view photos:

I love taking pictures of Cairns

Wonalancet and Hibbard 5/21/2011

Today I was able to get a few miles in for the first time in over a year.  The overall hike was 6.2 miles up and over Wonalancet and Hibbard mountains via a small loop.  I hiked up and over Wonalancet first via the Wonalancet Range Trail.  I then hit the Hibbard, then the Walden and Old Mast Road trails to get back to my car at Ferncroft.  It was a great day to stretch the legs.  Not much for pictures today as it was a bit of a last minute trip and I forgot my camera.
