Vaughn Woods 11/10/2012
Hiked around Vaughn Woods again today. Shelby's busy today so I took Max down and we walked a big loop covering about a mile or so. Good day to be outside before the snow comes.

Vaughn Woods State Park 10/5/2012
Shelby and I had no plans today and I've been complaining about not being outside much lately so we headed to Vaughn Woods State Park and tooled around for about an hour roaming the different trails there. We let Max run free for the most part. I figure we got about a mile of trail completed here. We saw the hamilton house and the gardens around it. It was a beautiful day but a bit chilli.

Kearsarge North 4/13/2012
Looking for a little longer hike than last week and I'm always looking for a new summit and some redlining so I decided to hike Kearsarge North from the Hurricane Mountain Rd. I figured that most of the snow would be gone and I was right until I looped around the north side of the summit in the shade but all of the snow that remained was solid enough to walk on and if it wasn't it was easily avoidable. Spent a few minutes in th summit tower taking pictures and then came back down. Met a few hikers coming down.
It's nice to get out again and stretch my legs.
View from Just before the summit.
Do you see a Face in the rocks, or is it just me?
View of the Presidentials.

Green Mountain 4/3/2012
Hiked Green Mountain in New Hampshire today. Looking for a spring hike and this seemed like it would be perfect. Only 2.8 total miles up the fairly steep Dearborn Trail. Lots of leaves on the trail which made my footing tough. I have a hard time in leaves committing my footfalls down not knowing what's under the leaves.
On the way up, I felt completely out of shape. Perhaps it was the steepness but it could be that I'm just out of hiking shape.
I took a quick picture of the fire tower and fire warden's cabin at the summit and climbed the tower and took a few pictures of the surrounding area but most of the pictures didn't come out. Until next time.
