2 More in the books, 46 complete total, 48 to go.
Today, I hike South and Middle Carter.
As always, I hit the trail fairly early. 7:58AM. Partway up the trail. I would guess .8 or .9 miles I ran into a halfway constructed bridge to cross the brook. It also looks like there may be a little trail re-routing going on but it's hard to tell.
About an hour later I passed a couple who seemed to be complaining about the trail. They couldn't seem to make a decision on whether to hike Carter Dome or hit Middle and South Carter. I stopped at the trail junction and ate a quick granola bar and passed them again a few minutes later on their way to South and Middle Carter.
Soon enough I reached some limited views and the summit of South Carter. Fairly insigificant as far as summits go but... there was a cairn.
45/48 in the books!!
A little while later I came across some excellent views into Maine and the North and some more of the Northern Presidentials.

I hit the summit of Middle Carter 46/48 in the books. Then I bailed down the trail to the road and walked the short distance... read (over a mile) back to the car... uphill.
Total trip took about 6:20 and it was about 11.9 miles. I'm guessing on the road walk but I feel my time was very good. Considering I didn't necessarily feel in shape I think beating book time is definately a good thing.
